March 25′ Current Thoughts Feature: Philip Hasouris

The Current Thoughts Open Mic is back on Sunday, March 30th (4-6PM) and we’re welcoming Brockton’s Poet Laureate, Philip Hasouris to read for us!

Philip Hasouris’s poetry invites you on a profound journey. His insightful verses explore themes of love, tragedy, and hope, showcasing the transformative power of poetry. Philip’s work is deeply connected to life’s experiences, and his writing captures these experiences with exquisite sensitivity. In recognition of his dedication to fostering a love of poetry, advocating for literature, and supporting arts and education Philip was appointed the first Poet Laureate of Brockton in 2021. His book, Light of the Moon, follows his healing journey after the death of his wife. It also features work from dedicated students and fellow poets who have participated in Philip’s workshop series that focus on the processing of trauma and grief through the creation of art. Light of the Moon is a poignant look at the way grief affects every human regardless of age, creed, background, or any of the other arbitrary details we assign ourselves.

Join us at the beautiful Current Healing Arts Studio insid the Kilburn Mill on Sunday, March 30th from 4PM-6PM. Philip will give a featured reading, and we’ll have our usual open mic. Sign-ups will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Philip will also have copies of his book available for sale, so bring your book faire money.
