Poet Cat Speranzini joins us for May’s installment of our monthly AHA Open Mic Night, from 7-9pm at the Co-Creative Center in Downtown New Bedford!

Cat Speranzini is an Emerson college alumni, a mother, reader for Querencia Press, and the editor-in-chief of Grey Coven Publishing. Her third poetry collection, of verbina and vitriol, is pending publication with Octave Eight Publishing. Her work has appeared in ten publications to date including The Eunoia Review, Moss Puppy Magazine, Clever Fox Lit, and Glass Gates Publishing. She was recently long-listed for the Black Fox Lit contest “Portraits of Failure.” In her spare time, she is an outspoken advocate for mental health, a supporter of local music, and an equestrian.
Cat’s most recently published book, Calm In The Dark, is a collection of emotionally charged poetry about grief, heartbreak, and mental health. Poems full of mythical metaphors and ocean symbolism take you on a traumatic and introspective journey.

Join us at the always lively Co-Creative Center on Thursday, May 8th from 7-9pm for Cat’s feature reading, along with our usual open mic. Cat will have copies of her books available for sale!
