Send in your poetry, short prose, and artwork for consideration for Rituals 2026. Deadline to submit is Sunday, May 24th, 2026.

At time of writing, New England is still cleaning up after Mother Nature dropped just over three feet of snow on top of slush and ice from two previous snow storms. It’s been a cold, miserable mess to say the least. We are eagerly praying to gods of all pantheons for the return of spring, sunshine, or at the very least just some average rain.

But the warmth is on it’s way, and with it the long, slow days of summer. We’re making plans for road trips, beach days, and a fresh edition of Rituals. We want to read your spooky campfire ghost stories. We cherish the sweet memories of long days on the beach. We welcome laments of not wearing enough sunscreen, or not kissing that certain person at the top of the ferris wheel – nostalgia, memory, history.

We accept up to two pieces (you may mix mediums if you’re the multi-talented type): poems, short prose (800 words or less), photographs, and artwork. For text, please submit as a PDF or Word doc. For images please send as high-resolution JPG or PNG files.

Submissions must be sent via email to sarah@domesticatedprimate.com. Please include a brief bio about yourself (100 words or less) in the body of your email.

To ensure that we are ready to publish on our scheduled date, submissions must be sent in by 11:59PM on Sunday, May 24th, 2026.
