Rituals
Our summer anthology focuses on themes of nostaliga and memory, and the things that connect us across time, space and history. We want your summertime vacation memories. A first kiss at sunset. The existential musings as you stare up at a midsummer meteor shower.
We accept:
up to two (2) poems – no format/form restrictions. Please begin each poem on a new page.
one (1) short prose piece (800 words or less) – no format/form restrictions
up to two (2) pieces of artwork – no medium or style restrictions. Please list titles for each work and materials used.
Please submit your work via email to sarah@domesticatedprimate.com. In the body of your email, please include a brief bio about yourself (~100 words or less).
Submissions should be sent in either PDF or Word format / PNG or high-quality JPG for images.
We accept simultanious submissions, but please notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Copyright Stuff
When an author or artist (“you”/”contibutor”) agrees to our offer of publication of a work, Domesticated Primate (“we”/”us”) thereby acquires worldwide first serial rights and limited, perpetual, nonexclusive, online rights. Submitters represent to us that they hold transferrable copyright for submitted works (ie: this work is your original composition). By agreeing to publication you agree to the following terms:
- Online rights are limited and non-exclusive: After we publish it, nothing in this agreement restricts what you may do with your work, including publishing it elsewhere online, as long as you don’t require us to stop using your work as in §2 above (this enables us to offer back issues in our e-store and to host individual works on our website). Note: We do not hold copyright for future anthologies, best-ofs, and the like.
- Contributors kindly will acknowledge Domesticated Primate as first publisher in all subsequent publications.
- After publication, an individual work’s copyright reverts to Contributor, with agreement that Domesticated Primate and Anomaly Poetry will share, with appropriate credit, into the future through social media and digital publications.
