Frequently Asked Questions

*Do you charge fees to submit work?
– No! Submissions are always free of charge.

*Do you accept simultanious submissions and/or previously published work?
– YES to both. We ask that if you’re sharing simultaneous submissions and your work is accepted elsewhere ahead of us, please notify us as soon as you can. We will gladly accept previously published work that the artist retains rights to, and ask that you share the first publication info with us so we can properly credit your work’s first home!

*Do you offer compensation for accepted artists?
-at this time, no, we cannot compensate for accepted work. We do however make the publication freely available on our website, and you won’t be asked to pay a submission fee.

*Why don’t you number the pages of your books? And why is there no Table of Contents?
-both valid questions. The lack of page numbers? A deficiency of patience and technical know-how on the part of our EIC.
No Table of Contents – we like to shuffle your work around the book based on themes and general vibes, so it would get a little confusing anyway. And it’s become a bit of a tradition since our Founder Nick LeBlanc created Tidings 2019 and introduced the idea of the books unfolding the same way one unwraps a stream of holiday presents – unexpected delights, some nostaligic tears, and maybe a few disappointments. 😉

*Do you accept AI-generated work?
-NO! Go try again, even if you think it sucks. Make something with your own heart, mind, and hands. Then maybe send it in and see what happens.

*What’s with the goat logo?
-We thought a black sheep was a little to on-the-nose for what we wanted to convey with Anomaly Poetry. But also being New England-based weirdos, we liked the witchy-weirdo vibe of a little black goat, which was regularly appointed as a witch’s familiar when she didn’t have a cat 😉
